So long, Solara

I was so excited about starting my blog, but quickly realized that I gave NOTHING exciting to talk about! LOL!   Jonathan and I love the daily grind of our lives, but lately it seems as though I have no news!  We are enjoying our summer, and look forward to a couple of vacations we have planned.  Hopefully, I will remember to keep everyone posted on our recent events, but until then allow me to share about my new car...
For those of you that have known me, even for a short period of time, probably know that I am a very practical, sometimes frugal, buyer when it comes to making purchases.  I am the opposite of an impulsive buyer, whether it is buying a bag of chips, a new outfit, or even a home!
With that being said, I found myself somewhat in an impulsive situation three short weeks ago. Jonathan and I were in Shreveport visiting his family for Memorial Day.  On our way out of town we decided to stop and "just look" at a used car, perhaps 2007 or 2008 4 door car.  This is an idea I have played around with for a few months now.  Being a practical purchaser, I could not justify buying a new car when the one I have runs just fine! (those Toyota's will last forever!!) I have had my Toyota Solara since I was 17 years old! My parents were so generous and gracious to purchase a brand new car for me before I went to college.  I have had SO many memories in this car that I could hardly bare the idea of not driving my solara.  These memories begin when my parents suprised me the weekend of the Peach festival 2002.  I was SO EXCITED to have a new car!  Almost 10 years later, here I am again! I have so many memories in this car, I literally don't know where to start!  Please feel free to mention any memories you may have! :)
Being from a small town, I feel as though my car defined me.  Everyone knows everything about everybody, especially what they drive!  It was hard for me to picture myself driving any thing else.
All of these thoughts are probably way more complex than they need to be when deciding to buy a car!  (I realize I over analyze situations, but this is how I generally make decisions. As I approach my 27th birthday in just a couple of months, I come to the conclusion that I have outgrown my 2-door solara and have graduated to the idea of a sedan.  It was such a great car and I truly hope the new owner loves it and takes care of it!
So on this beautiful, stifling hot might I add, Memorial Day that began with just "looking" at a used car, I somehow find the impusliveness to buy myself a brand new fully-loaded 2011 Nissan Altima.  Like the one that is in the show room.  Yes, we literally drove it out of the big glass doors.  It was quite an experience that day, and I have greatly enjoyed my lovely new ride, with all the bells and whistles.  However; my frugalness has kicked in full-force.  I literally have anxiety about making a car payment each month, something of which I have never done.  SO this is somewhat of a big deal for me, but I am slowly but surely coming to the realization that this is life: money isn't everything, new cars of fun, 4 door cars are necessary, and I will drive this car until the wheels literally fall off.

so long, solara...

hello altima!!!

On our way home from the dealership (only slightly freaking out inside)

sweet birthdays

Today is the birthday of my niece, Madison.  10 short years ago she was brought into this world by her wonderful parents Stacy and Nathan.  Madison definitely has the "scriber gene" complete with her sweet, loving, thoughtful, but sassy personality.  Although she is only 10 years old, I truly enjoy being around her.   She is spending the night at my house tonight with her best friend.  We will do girlie things, eat ice cream, maybe choreograph a dance or two, and  of course watch movies.  No other movie is on the agenda but  Justin Beiber "Never Say Never"!!

something new

I am not much of writer, but I am very much a social person! I feel like I have so much to say, without too much rambling of course, so what better way to connect with our friends and family!  Jonathan and I are living the wonderful married life.  Between my job, and Jonathan's work and school schedule, we are very much on the go!  Hopefully this blog will keep everyone updated as we share our fun, crazy, but sometimes uneventful life!  Once again, I am new to all this so bare with me as I begin this blog.  Shout out to Briley Cotton brileyandmatt.blogspot.com, who inspried me with her super cute blog!
Below is a picture of Jonathan and I at our favorite place, the Dawg House!
