In the heat of July

July was a busy, hot and full of all things summer! I apologize for the lack of blogging, so it looks like this one might be lengthy to discuss everything we have done in the past month!  I kicked off July with an Independence Day celebration with my best friend Tammy.  Doc, her father in law, has an incredible fireworks show on Caney Lake.  (like seriously, its better than Disney World, not that i've ever been to Disney World, but you catch my drift. it's amazing, and the entire lake comes to support and watch the show!)  I spent the day on the blistering hot, yet beautiful July day with her family, with the fireworks show later that evening.  Watching the sunset is honestly one of my most favorite things to do.  I truly see God's beauty in the sun, and watching a sunset on the lake leaves me in awe every time.

We are proud to be American and finally bought an American flag to show our patriotism! Happy July 4th from the Walsh's!

July 5th began our official vacation.  Jonathan and I, along with 3 other couples packed up and headed to Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  Oklahoma you ask? Yes, Oklahoma indeed!  Beaver's Bend State Park is an absolutely beautiful destination, apart from the actual city, which was..ehhh.. rough, to say the least.  We had plenty of outdoor events planned and really enjoyed our time getting to know each other and having fun.  The first day each couple rented a canoe and set out for an 8 mile (whoa) canoe trip down North Fork River.  I wasn't able to take my camera with me on the river, because heaven forbid our canoe tump over and I ruin my camera.  This is only funny because OF COURSE we flipped our canoe (which was compeltely not my fault) and everything including our lunch, drinks, towels, clothes, flip flops, you name it, was in our boat.  Did i mention the water was 40 degrees?
The whole day was a BLAST, although we definitely got our work out in, rowing 8 miles!
The next day we set out on the same river, but we decided to participate in a 4 mile float.  This was a great idea starting out, untill we quickly realized the lack of current in the river.  We made it down the river in 6 hours, using our hands to paddle.  It was quite an adventure, but so much fun none the less!

After 2 days, we had enough of the exciting river adventures and headed out to Texas.  One last picture in front of our precious cabin in the woods!

Three days later we are Texas Bound! Yeehaw!
We arrive to Texas and get ready for dinner!  We end up a Boomerjack's in Arlington, which quickly became a favorite restaurant of ours.  The food was awesome, the atmostphere was fun, and it is located next to the Rangers  and Cowboys stadium!

The next day, which happens to be my favorite day of the trip, we went to watch the Rangers play!  It was a 2:00 game on a sunday night, and boy was it H-O-T-T hot!! I am convinced Dallas is the hottest place on earth.
We had SUCH a great time at the game, despite the heat, and managed to pull out a win! Go Rangers!

After the game we went back to Boomerjack's for a post-game celerbration!

Vacation is officialy over, and back to the daily grind of work.  We enjoyed spending time with our friends, and can't wait for next time!
